Dancer and multidisciplinary artist Alicia Raquel Morales is building crowning.coronación, an interactive, site responsive, and multimedia dance work that exists outdoors, in the streets of Brooklyn. In this hour-long conversation led by Hi-ARTS Curator in Residence Kirya Traber, Alicia and her collaborators—Carissa Matsushima and Sharon Bridgforth—invoke the methods of “storm medicine,” and discuss how their artistic practice draws possibility out of environmental devastation and social upheaval.
